The Service is also responsible for ensuring that the Emergency Plan for the City of Thompson is kept up to date. The Chief is also responsible for making sure that the updates for the plan are distributed, and that a meeting is held at least annually. The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss concerns and educational issues.
The Fire Chief and the Deputy Fire Chief are also responsible for the setting-up of the Emergency Operating Centre (EOC) in the event of an emergency, or when directed to by the City Manager.
