Groups may submit one nomination for Volunteer of the Year using the enclosed nomination form.

National Volunteer Week runs April 19-25, 2009.  We are running our City of Thompson Volunteer Recognition Program in conjunction with that.  All you have to do is follow these two easy steps to recognize your hard working membership.

Part One:  Fill in the Volunteer List with the names and addresses of all your volunteers.  They will all be recognized with a small gift and some kind words.

Part Two:  Please nominate the one volunteer who has gone furthest beyond the call of duty using the enclosed nomination form.  Tell us why they are your organization’s VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR.  Nominations will be accepted for recognition of volunteer time given on an ongoing and active basis to the same group for which no payment has been received.  Membership alone is not a qualification for recognition.  Services performed during the normal course of professional or business duties are not eligible for recognition.

Nominations must be received by 4:00pm, March 23, 2009

Awards
The Volunteer of the Year award will be presented at the Monday, April 20, 2008 City Council Meeting.

Volunteer Reception
A Volunteer Reception for all community volunteers will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 from 5:30-7:00pm in the foyer at City Hall. On behalf of the City of Thompson please find enclosed some invitations for your volunteers to attend the Volunteer Reception.  If more invitations are required please call the Recreation Center Office, 677-7952 or click on invitation to download
