	Welcome to the Thompson Zoo The Thompson Zoo was incorporated in 1978 starting off with just a few animals. Today we have over 100 animals and birds. The Thompson Zoo is the only northern Wildlife Rehab Cetnre in Manitoba. This small zoo houses native northern species, domestic farm animals and a wide variety of birds and waterfowl. It provides an educational and recreational experience for children and adults of the city of Thompson and the Norman Region as well as many out of province tourists who visit the city. It is well utilized by a complete cross section of the multi-racial population of the city and is one of the few recreational facilities that a family can visit and enjoy at no cost. more

We are facing an economic challenge to find the operating funds to maintain our zoo, as we will be receiving fewer funds from the City of Thompson due to recent budget cutbacks. more

Meet our latest addition

Neigh has been living at the Thompson Zoo for 3 years she is 4 years old. She was born in a zoo in Quebec, because she has not developed survival skills, she will remain in captivity. Since her time at the Thompson Zoo she has had two litters of pups 5 born in all. more
