Thompson Fire & Emergency Services issued a temporary open air fire ban for the City of Thompson on May 22. The use of backyard fire pits or outdoor manufactured burning appliances other than gas/propane barbecues is prohibited. The ban was issued due to dry and windy conditions posing an increased fire hazard and will remain in effect until further notice.
ATV/Dirt Bike Ban
A complete ban on recreational ATV/Dirt Bike use is still in effect within and around the City of Thompson due to the fire risk. This ban remains in effect until further notice.
Road Closure
Station Rd will be closed between Nelson Rd & Princeton Dr starting at 7 a.m. on Sat, June 14 and continuing up until the end of the workday on Sun, June 15.
MULTI-USE PATH PAVING
Maple Leaf Construction has changed the schedule for paving the Multi-Use Path on Westwood Drive. Paving will now be taking place on Friday, June 13 and on Saturday, June 14. Work is expected to begin at 7 a.m. on both days. Westwood Drive residents should move vehicles off the path area before the work begins.
Community Cleanup Month Extended Until June 29
Community Clean-Up Month is officially extended by 2 weeks! From now until June 29, you can clean any area in town, just snap a photo and email it to rec@thompson.ca to be entered into our weekly prizes and the grand prize draw!
